Located on beautiful Hatteras Island in the Village of Buxton, Buxton Beach Motel is oceanside and located within a mile of historic Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Feel the sand between your toes within a minute, enjoy the beach without the crowd. Explore The Cape Hatteras National Seashore, and you will find many things to do and see while you are relaxing and doing nothing...... 

Not only are there gorgeous beaches and the Pamlico Sound, awesome sunrises and sunsets, but the night sky is also truly a sight to behold. There are ample gift shops, putt putt golf courses, ice cream shops and restaurants. If your pleasure is great fishing, the motel beaches are usually productive, as are the old lighthouse jetties, or you can drive to "The Point" in practically seconds. Drive four miles north and you can be windsurfing or kite boarding at the world famous "Canadian Hole." If bird watching, exploring nature, beachcombing, or  just reading and napping is what you seek, you have found the right place to visit. Hatteras Island is full of history, shipwrecks, numerous historical sites, and museums that are a must for those who long to know what it used to be like.

Buxton Beach Motel is not your typical motel. You won't find long dark hallways,  elevators, concierges, or luggage racks. We are an original Hatteras Island style motel. Ground level and built in the late fifties, the character and charm are unlike any other motel left on the island. Surviving numerous hurricanes over the years has made us one of a kind. Most of our accommodations have screened porches. Enjoy the sounds, sights, smells, and breezes of the seashore in a place that actually has screen doors and windows that you can open and close, not just look through. We offer a variety of accommodations, and most of them offer parking at your front door. Each of our places has it's own unique personality. It doesn't take long to get into the feel of the past and let all your cares float away with the cries of the seagulls, and you suddenly find yourself experiencing what the locals refer to as "Island Time"

Because the majority of our guests come here to get away from it all and relax, we do not intrude upon them with daily housekeeping, and our units are not equipped with telephones.  

All units are ground level, have porches (most are screened), A/C, cable TV, and private bathrooms with showers.

All bedrooms include: small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, private bathroom w/shower, A/C, cable TV.

All kitchen units are equipped for the preparation of a simple meal. 

Furnished linens include: Bath towels, wash cloths, sheets & pillowcases, blankets and bedspreads. Crib linens are not provided 

Outdoor grills, a lighted fish cleaning station, freezer for fish and coin-op laundry facilities are available for our guest to use. 

Be sure to try our awesome outdoor shower, at least once during your stay, in the warmer months. Don't be surprised if you have to wait in line!
